01 — Artist
Gioh Cecato grew up in São Paulo — twelve million people and no off switch — with a piano in the house and a musician father who kept it in use. She moved to the United States a decade ago and turned that training toward production.
The sound she's built since is hard, fast and acidic: physical techno that leans on pressure rather than drops. It has landed on Hydraulix in London, Mad Made, Autektone in Italy, DSR Digital and Expel Your Demons, and it's been played out by 9x9 and Stan Christ.
Four continentsOne tempo
On the floor she's a resident at Domicile, Miami's dedicated hard techno room. She's shared the booth with Sara Landry, Indira Paganotto, I Hate Models and RIKHTER, played São Paulo alongside Rebekah, headlined in Bangkok, and worked Dieze Warehouse in Montpellier. She's played for Verknipt, Blackworks and Reckless — three of the heaviest brands in the genre. She also runs Rave Culture Records and hosts a monthly podcast series with invited guests.
Her set reads a room fast and holds it. That's the reason promoters book her twice.
